Faux finishes and faux painting are terms used to describe a wide range of decorative painting techniques. From the French word for "fake", faux painting began as a form of replicating materials such as marble and wood with paint, but has come to encompass many other decorative finishes for walls and furniture. Authentic Italian Plasters will separate you from the ordinary. These very unique finishes range from very high polished finishes to very rough Tuscan looks. The plasters we primarily use are Artenova by Safra imported from Verona Italy. All products in the Safra system are water soluble, non-flammable, non-toxic and ecologically friendly. The lime-based finishes are made out of actual marble dust, a substance that prevents dust mites from burrowing in to the walls, creating an allergy-free environment. Italian/Venetian plasters have been used for centuries around the world, in homes and offices, architectural masterpieces and throughout many buildings. Creating a finish of venetian plaster is quite an involved process. It takes time, patience, and an eye for detail.
